Course Overview:
Module 1: Introduction to Lighting Design (4 hrs)
Module 2: Introduction to DIALux (4 hrs)
Module 3: Creating a Room (6 hrs)
Module 4: Additional Components needed for a Building (6 hrs)
Module 5: A Complete Interior & Exterior Project (10 hrs)
Module 6: Landscape Lighting (6 hrs)
Module 7: Project, Test and Evaluation (14 hrs)

Course Summary:
Module 1: Introduction to Lighting Design (4 hrs)
In this module, we cover the basics of lighting design. It includes the basic terms that are used in the industry and also in DIALux software. Light and its effects on human eye will also be discussed. Other topics include Types of Lighting, Applications of Lighting Design, etc.
Module 2: Introduction to DIALux (4 hrs)
In this module, the user interface of the software will be introduced along with familiarisation of the tools. A brief description about each tool in DIALux evo will be provided. A simple room will be created with the learnt tools.
Module 3: Creating a Room (6 hrs)
In this module, a room will be created in detail with all the components and lighting fixtures. The same room will be rendered and output will be obtained.
Module 4: Additional Components needed for a Building – Staircase, Baluster, etc. (6 hrs)
In this module, additional components required for a building will be covered. A simple staircase, a spiral staircase, a baluster column, cove lighting, etc.
Module 5: A Complete Interior & Exterior Project (10 hrs)
In this module, a complete project with multiple floors will be executed with different light scenes.
Module 6: Landscape Lighting (6 hrs)
Landscape lighting of an exterior building will be executed with the use of exterior landscape plugins.
Module 7: Project, Test and Evaluation (14 hrs)
This will be the final module and the students will work on a project after which a test will be conducted for evaluation and certification.
Note: We recommend each participant to have a personal system for DIALux installation. Other alternatives can also be worked out at the Institution if possible.
System Requirements: CPU with SSE2-support, 4 GB RAM (min. 2GB), OpenGL 3.0 graphics card (1 GB RAM), Windows 7/8.1/10 (32/64 bit), Resolution min. 1024 x 768 px.
